Harvey’s Heartfelt Thanks

Harvey ‘s weeks of intensive training paid off as he sprinted to a photo finish completing his first Half Marathon in only 2 hours. Just look at Harvey’s form in the clip attached. The keen eyed amongst you will notice that Harvey was just pipped to the post by some well-known Marathon runner (Haile Gebrselassie) and one or two other people.

In an exclusive interview to the world’s press afterwards, Harvey declared his delight at beating his personal best in the Primary 5 Egg and Spoon race. He also expressed his regret that the jelly babies who accompanied him in the challenge did not make it. Sorry Jelly Babies, but it takes All Sorts or a fruit and nut case to complete a Marathon (Snickers for the youngsters amongst us).

Harvey was astonished at the publicity created by his athletic début and initially struggled to come to terms with his new celebrity status. Unfortunately, he had to decline an interview with Hello Magazine as he had some stuffing knocked out if him in the race and was not looking his best. Harvey drew support from his fellow runners and the well wishers who lined the route. The looks on the kids’ faces and the emotion in running the last few miles past the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice made it a momentous day. For this and the generous donations from Friends and Family, Harvey passes on a Heartfelt Hug and a big Thank You!

Harvey is now looking for a new challenge so watch this space!
